VA Signs One Year Contract with Elekta, IMPAC

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has renewed its contract with Elekta Inc. for radiation oncology products for one year with the option of three additional extension years. Along with the Department of VA the contract also includes the Department of Defense and other federal agencies within the 50 states, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. The contract covers Elekta's digital linear accelerators, capable of IMRT and 3-D X-ray volume imaging for IGRT, developed to address the problems of organ movement and patient set-up uncertainties in radiation therapy.

IMPAC Medical Systems Inc., an Elekta company, also received a contract for the company's oncology-specific healthcare IT solutions for the same period of time. The IMPAC contract includes Multi-ACCESS and MOSAIQ solutions, which fully integrate with all major treatment systems to improve patient outcomes and expedite workflow.
